NORTH CAROLINA -- We had a healthy round of showers and storms later yesterday into the evening. Some of those Saturday storms were severe with some gusty winds as well.

  • A few storms could be severe late today with damaging winds the main threat
  • Highs today will be well into the 80s around the piedmont and in the 70s for the mountains
  • Monday looks very much the same with warm and humid weather and scattered afternoon storms

Today, we will have scattered showers and storms develop again. A few storms could be severe late today with damaging winds the main threat. And, as is almost always the case this time of year, any storm could produce prolific cloud to ground lightning, so be sure and head indoors if you hear thunder.

Highs today will be well into the 80s around the piedmont and in the 70s for the mountains.

Monday looks very much the same with warm and humid weather and scattered afternoon storms.

A strong cold front will approach Tuesday and that front could bring a good round of showers and storms late in the day.

Following that Tuesday front, a much cooler and drier airmass will settle into the region. Thursday and Friday look delightful with sunshine, low humidity, and lower temperatures. Good stuff!
