HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Investigators have two suspects in High Point's latest deadly shooting.

  • Two suspects charged in latest High Point murder
  • Suspects are both 18 years old
  • Investigators believe the woman killed wasn't the intended target

They're charging 18 year olds Moeez Tahirkheli and Xavier Drayton, both from High Point, with first degree murder in the death of Brenda Herbin.

Police found Herbin early Thursday morning lying in the street on Franklin Avenue with a gunshot wound to the head.

Investigators don't believe Herbin was the intended target.

They think gang members riding through the area fired from a vehicle toward another vehicle they thought belonged to a rival gang but hit Herbin instead.

Officers arrested Tahirkheli and are holding him without bond.

They're calling Drayton armed and dangerous and say anyone who sees him should call 911 immediately.
