A warm and humid airmass remains in place all around the Carolinas. As we progress through our Saturday, scattered showers and storms will remain in the forecast as highs warm into the mid and upper 80s through the piedmont areas and into the 70s for the mountains.

The showers and storms should fade away fairly quickly this evening as we lose the heating of the day.

Sunday's forecast is very much the same with warm and muggy weather as well as scattered mainly afternoon and evening showers and storms.

Some drier air will then work our way next work week. There could still be a few storms Monday, but at this point the Tuesday through Thursday period looks mainly dry. Humidity levels will also be a little lower, so altogether, not bad stuff for mid-August.
