GREENSBORO, N.C. -- We had some hot and humid Monday weather with many local highs 90 or better. As we progressed through the afternoon, scattered storms rumbled through portions of the western Carolinas.

  • Weather setup remains the same from Monday to Tuesday.
  • Scattered storms again possible.
  • Forecast will remain virtually the same for the rest of the week.

Our overall weather setup today is very much like yesterday. We will have highs in the lower 90s in most areas, and as we head from mid-afternoon through the early evening hours, some scattered showers and storms will develop.

As is often the case this time of year, any storm is capable of producing lots of cloud to ground lightning, and a few storms could produce some damaging wind gusts.

The forecast will remain virtually the same through the rest of the work week. Over the weekend, better scattered shower and storm chances will arrive as a frontal boundary drops into the region and stalls out.
