ARCHDALE, N.C. -- There's nothing like a day at the spa to make a girl feel better. Especially if you’re a dog named Logan, who’s spent quite a bit of time homeless.

  • Logan was found at a construction site in High Point over the weekend.
  • She's anemic and malnourished.
  • A fundraiser was created for Logan on Facebook.

She’s being cared for by the non-profit animal charity Susie’s Hope.

“A dog who's been out a while like this, you expect to see, to look pretty bad, but this was kind of shocking to us," said Founder Donna Lawrence.

Lawrence’s group was contacted after Logan was found at a construction site in High Point over the weekend. Lawrence spent the day with her at the emergency vet.

"We knew it was really bad, I felt like we were on a timetable of her making it or not, you know," Lawrence said.

Lawrence says she is anemic and malnourished. She should be around 45 pounds, but weighs 29. She has a hard time walking because her nails were so ingrown.

"She looks to be one of the worst I've seen in a long time," said Lawrence.

Logan still has a long and expensive road ahead to recovery, and it’ll rely on the kindness of strangers. They've already been pitching in.

"We did a fundraiser for her on Facebook and people have been super generous,” said Lawrence. "Any that's left over will go to the next dog that might be in her condition."

And there are a lot of needs.

"This year alone, within six months, we have rescued over 200 dogs, with a vet bill of being over $25,000," Lawrence said.

She says efforts for dogs like Logan are worth it.

“It’s happy and joyful to watch them rehabilitate,” said Lawrence.

Those looking to donate should designate "Logan" on their donation.
