WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office is telling people to keep their eyes open and call authorities if you see anything suspicious as the search continues for an armed carjacking suspect.

Things are back to normal in the Clemmonsville Road area for the most part, but people are still on edge.

The sheriff's office is following up on leads to identify the suspect who fired a shot Wednesday.

This whole incident started in Yadkin County after the suspect is said to have stolen a car at gun point.

Forsyth County deputies noticed the car as it was coming into the county.

When they tried to stop it, a short chase started until the suspect got out of his car ran towards the woods and shot in the direction of deputies.

For a few hours parts of Clemmonsville Road between Ebert and Griffith were closed.

Things started calming down because investigators hadn't seen the suspect for a while until a resident did.

Deputies with the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, the SWAT team, Winston-Salem police and the Highway Patrol's helicopter all assisted with the search of this suspect.

Deputies say they will continue patrolling the area.

Investigators are also reminding residents in this area and the surrounding neighborhoods to keep their eyes open and call the sheriff's office if they see anything suspicious.
