WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- A 14-year-old boy is recovering after being shot in the leg in Winston-Salem.

  • It happened at Bertha and Waughton Streets
  • The boy was shot in the calf
  • Suspects are said to be three young males between the ages of 14 and 22

Officers responded to a shooting at Bertha Street and Waughton Street at about 1 Saturday afternoon.

Police say the boy was walking away from the ATM when an SUV pulled up beside him, and an occupant shot him in the calf.

The boy was transported to Baptist Brenner’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers say the suspects are three young males between the ages of 14 and 22.
