CHARLOTTE, N.C. --The Charlotte Hornets have a deal in place to sign point guard Tony Parker.  The deal reportedly will pay Parker $10 million over the course of a two-year contract.

  • Tony Parker, 36, agreed to a deal with the Charlotte Hornets
  • Parker spent his whole career playing for the San Antonio Spurs
  • Won four NBA titles with the Spurs

The 36 year-old Parker has played his entire 17-year career with the San Antonio Spurs, where he has averaged just under 16 points per game.  His playing time had begun to diminish with the Spurs over the past four seasons.  Last season, his average of 19 minutes player per game was the lowest of his career.

The arrival of Parker brings a veteran presence to the Hornets, as well as championship experience.  Parker won four NBA titles with San Antonio, and is reunited with James Borrego, who was an assistant with the Spurs last season, before becoming the Hornets Head Coach this offseason.

San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich released a statement via Twitter regarding the deal.
