All the storms we had on Friday were due to a cold front. It wasn't good that we had severe storms but that cold front will actually end being a very good thing. Tropical Depression #3 has formed offshore. It is drifting toward our coast and is forecast to strengthen to Tropical Storm "Chris" over the weekend. But that cold front will be headed south and east. It will eventually pick up "Chris" and steer it northeast over the open Atlantic. It will be a close call so stay tuned, especially if you have beach plans over the next several days. There will at least be bigger surf and a higher rip current risk. If you're staying here in the Triad, enjoy the cooler air Saturday with a high of only 76. We're back in the 80s on Sunday with more sunshine.
