CHARLOTTE – Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are warning people in several Charlotte neighborhoods to be alert after a spike in break-ins. It’s happening in the the Myers Park, Eastover and Cotswold neighborhoods.

  • Some Charlotte neighborhoods are seeing a spike in break ins.
  • In many of the incidents victims are at home. 
  • There have been 15 break ins since May 30.

Police say there have been 15 break-ins since May 30. Many residents were home at the time of the crimes. 

A photo has been released of a person who they say was seen using a credit card stolen during one of the break-ins.

 

 

 

Neighbors say they are staying alert. 

“It’s concerning because we have a family to protect,” says one Myers Park resident who didn’t want to give her name. 

Police are reminding people to lock doors and windows. In over half of the cases, that's how the suspects gained entry. 

Investigators say three cars have also been stolen. Police say one of the cars – a gray colored 2018 Audi Q5 – has not been recovered. Anyone with information is asked visit www.CharlotteCrimeStoppers.com.
