SURRY COUNTY, N.C. -- The family of a missing Surry County man confirmed to Spectrum News that investigators found the body of Allen Binns, Sr.

Searchers made the discovery Thursday morning off of N.C. Highway 89.

Binns' body has been sent to the North Carolina Medical Center for an autopsy and official identification.

Sunday, officials issued a missing persons report for Binns. 

He had last been seen in Pilot Mountain.
