SCIPIO, Utah -- Three members of an Archdale family on vacation in Utah are dead and one is in critical condition following a grisly crash.

  • An Archdale family was in a wreck on vacation in Utah. 
  • Three of them died and one is in critical condition.
  • A SUV crashed head-on into their vehicle after switching lanes to pass another car. 

The wreck happened just after 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Utah authorities say the driver of an SUV crashed head-on into the family after switching lanes to pass another car.

The SUV flipped on its roof. The family's car was forced off the road and then caught fire with them pinned inside.

All four members had to be extracted from the car.

Tyrone Bova, 47, and his wife Holly Jo Bova were both killed in the crash. Their 11-year-old son, Haden, died on the way to a hospital.

A 17-year-old in the car was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Authorities say they are looking at speed and distractions being a factor in the crash.
