Tuesday was quite hot all around the region. Columbia, South Carolina hit 101, and even the Outer Banks pushed up to 90 or hotter.

  • Slightly cool air will make its way into the area.
  • Storms possible Wednesday afternoon.
  • Rain will arrive late Thursday into Friday.

We remain in a hot weather setup today with low to mid 90s for our local highs. However, changes are gradually taking place.

There will likely be a few more storms this afternoon compared to the past couple of days, but most spots should still remain dry.

As a storm system approaches from the west, much better shower and storm chances will arrive later Thursday into Thursday evening. Friday then looks unsettled with good chances for some areas of showers and storms.

Over the weekend, the rain chances decrease a bit with just some pop-up afternoon type of storms.
