GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Monday was a scorcher around the Carolinas. Locally, our viewing area had widespread highs in the mid 90s with plenty of sun.

  • Tuesday will be a hot and humid day.
  • Small isolated storms may develop, but overall chance is small.
  • Wednesday will bring more heat.

Tuesday will again be mainly sunny, hot, humid day with highs in the 94-96 degree range and an afternoon heat index approaching 100. There will be a couple of isolated storms that develop, but the chance of rain in any one location is again quite small.

More heat is on tap for Wednesday with highs in the mid 90s. There will likely be a few more storms Wednesday compared to previous days, but still, most spots will remain dry.

As a disturbance and a frontal boundary approach Thursday, I expect much better scattered shower and storm chances. Those better shower and storm chances should again be with us Friday, and then I expect the chance of some scattered afternoon storms to continue into the weekend.

While the pattern will remain quite warm, the heat will back down a few notches for the latter stages of the week.

Be sure and check out today's video for much more.
