DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. -- An advocacy group has a new report out that says more kids are going into foster care because of opioid abuse.

  • Substance misuse was a factor to children entering foster care in 30 percent of cases between 2016 and 2017
  • Davidson County commissioners have approved the hiring of six more people to help with their foster care system
  • Davidson County's Social Services says they've noticed this trend for a while
