GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Piedmont Triad Airport Authority announced the addition of a new airline service with exciting new flights.

  • Beginning on Sept. 6, 2018, the airline will begin service at Piedmont Triad International Airport
  • Service to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, Orlando International Airport, and Tampa International Airport

Spirit Airlines is heading to the Triad area with low fare flights to Florida.

Beginning on Sept. 6, 2018, the airline will begin service at Piedmont Triad International Airport, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, Orlando International Airport and Tampa International Airport.

Service to and from Orlando will run three times per week, while service to and from Fort Lauderdale and Tampa will operate twice a week. Eventually service will increase to four times per week for Orlando and three for the other two, starting in November.

"Spirit is an ultra-low cost carrier that is building a sterling reputation for reliable, on-time service to key markets," said Piedmont Triad Airport Authority chairman Stephen D. Showfety.
