NASH COUNTY, N.C. -- Three people have been arrested after Nash County deputies found approximately $807,000 worth of heroin in a car Monday.

  • Supply would have been enough for 40,350 bindles. 

The Nash County Sheriff’s Office Highway Interdiction Team found the heroin while conducting a vehicle stop at the 134 mile marker on Interstate 95.

Upon speaking with the driver, members of the Highway Interdiction Team (HIT) noticed marijuana residue on the floor board of the car, giving investigators reasonable suspicion to believe the occupants were involved in criminal activity.

A search of the vehicle found 3.89 lbs of heroin in the trunk. This is equivalent to approximately 40,350 bindles.

All three occupants were arrested and charged with one count each of Trafficking Heroin. They were placed in the Nash County Detention Center under a $750,000.00 secured bond with a first appearance set for June 12, 2018.
