Warmer and muggier air is gradually creeping back into the region, and we will have an overall summer-like feel to our weather over the next week.

  • Muggier air is creeping back into the region.
  • Some afternoon storms will return.
  • Summertime in store for next week.

Highs in the Piedmont today through the weekend will range from the upper 80s to the lower 90s with upper 70s to near 80 for mountain highs.

We do not have any major storm systems headed our way anytime soon, but with the air getting muggier, we will see the return of some afternoon storms. A few storms are possible Friday, and then I expect a few more storms to form Saturday relative to Friday.

That same upward trend in the amount of afternoon storms will likely continue Sunday into Monday.

We will continue to have the chance of daily scattered afternoon storms through the rest of next week -- looking like summertime.
