FAYETTEVILLE -- You can expect roads and highways to be very crowded over the next few days.

AAA projects that more than 41 million people will be traveling this weekend and more than 36 million of them will do so by car or vehicle.

 

 

"It's not been too bad. Actually we've been on the road for 6 hours at this point, "said Jesse Jackson, who was traveling with his family from Florida on I-95 Friday.

 

The large number of travelers for the Memorial Day holiday comes in spite of the fact that gas prices this year are at their highest level since 2014.

Traffic along I-95 is expected to be heavy through Monday.
