Somewhat quieter weather is set to unfold for our Tuesday evening, since most locations are expected to remain dry.

  • Possibility of rain in a few areas early Tuesday night
  • More storms expected Wednesday
  • Watch out for flooding, strong winds and hail

That said, a few areas of rain and thunder will still be possible, mainly early tonight, thanks to an approaching cold front over the Ohio River Valley. That same cold front will move through the region on Wednesday.  As it does, clusters of storms are expected to fire.  Some storms could be strong or even severe.  Damaging winds and large hail will be the main threat.  Additionally, heavy downpours may lead to localized flooding.

Drier and less humid weather will finally arrive behind the front on Thursday.  Friday should remain the same, but another surge of tropical moisture is anticipated for the weekend.  So, rain and storms seem likely for a good chunk of the weekend and probably even into the Memorial Day holiday.
