WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Police are investigating an apartment fire that displaced 13 people.

• No injuries were reported.
• Fire was determined to be suspicious in nature.
• Apartment was unoccupied, residents of neighboring apartments were evacuated.

Officers responded to 23 Salem Gardens Drive in reference to reports of a break-in. Once on the scene, officers discovered the apartment to be fully engulfed in flames.

The apartment was determined to be unoccupied and officers ensured that the residents of the neighboring apartments were safely evacuated.

While no injuries were reported, the fire was determined to be suspicious in nature.

A total of 13 people are now displaced as a result of the fire.
