Mark Harris is celebrating after beating incumbent Congressman Pittenger in the Republican primary for District 9.
“It was certainly a night I’ll not soon forget," says Harris. "There was a great deal of anticipation going into the evening. We felt good about some of the numbers we had seen, and the early voting totals came out … As the evening progressed, I was being asked ‘So how do you feel?’ And I was very guarded. I said, ‘You know, we’ve been here before.’”
Harris is an outspoken supporter of President Trump and says he would welcome his support.
When asked about opponent, Dan McCready, Harris says he believes McCready will have a hard time defending the values of the Democratic Party as they've been presented by individuals such as Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi.
