Duke Energy restored power to more than 20,000 homes but hundreds of those still don't have power because the power lines damaged some equipment.

The city is responsible for inspecting all electric work before the lights can come back on. This usually costs people $75 but the city wants to help."Because there is a lot of electrical damage associated with the storm, we are waiving those fees,” says the director of engineering with city, Kenny McDowell.         

To qualify for the waiver your home must be listed in the Guilford County Emergency Management list of structures impacted the tornado. People have till July 20th the get the permit fee waived. If you've already paid the $75 the city's development service office will refund you. V
