WINSTON-SALEM -- The City of Winston-Salem is gearing up for summer by opening up a new water park, but they need help staffing it.

Winston Lake Aquatic Park on Waterworks Road offers a pool, slide and a lazy river. The city needs to hire nearly 100 lifeguards.

"We usually hire over 70 lifeguards. That's been what we've hired in the past. However, with this new facility and this new facility being this large bringing on the new amenities, we will need to hire an additional 24 lifeguards to operate this facility," said Latoya Price, the City of Winston-Salem’s aquatics supervisor.

Winston Park is set to open May 25th. The city also bought Long Creek Pool in Bethania and will run it as a public facility.
