WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. --  The Dash is coming off of an exciting home opener Thursday night, hoping to carry that momentum into the rest of the four-game home series against the Carolina Mudcats.

Thursday's game drew about 6,000 fans from across the Triad.

Officials say those numbers aren't just a win for the stadium, but also for the city.

CJ Johnson, the president of the Winston-Salem Dash, said, "It's been amazing to watch our city transform and certainly not just with Dash baseball and BB&T Ballpark, but the whole city's been transforming, and right in our neighborhood, there’s been a lot of great development."

The Dash host the Carolina Mudcats for a four-game series through Sunday.
