GREENSBORO, N.C. -- North Carolina A&T and UNC-Greensboro joined together to celebrate the life and achievements of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The schools held their joint celebration later than normal this year due to winter weather.

The event featured a day of events. The keynote speaker was Payton Head.

Head, a recent graduate of the University of Missouri, has received an NAACP Image Award and has created partnerships to co-author a how-to guide for student leaders to address inclusion.

The commemorative program also featured spoken word and performances by the NC A&T jazz ensemble and UNCG’s Real Anointed Worshippers Gospel Choir.
