DURHAM -- A Greenville family is celebrating their Christmas at the Ronald McDonald House of Durham as they wait for one of their newborns to undergo surgery.

Carsin Powell was due on Christmas Eve, but gave birth to her twin girls on Thanksgiving Day.

While one of her daughters is out of the hospital, the other is still at Duke University Hospital as she awaits her second brain surgery.

Powell says support from her family and the staff at Ronald McDonald House has been a source of strength.

The community has come together to help with financial costs for the specialized care her daughter will need.
