GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Icy, snowy conditions greeted Triad-area drivers Saturday morning.

Most main roads and interstates were clear but side streets and off ramps were more dicey. Some contain ice and slush.

There have been hundreds of accidents since the snow began Friday. Many abandoned cars could be seen along the side of Interstate 40 between Greensboro and Winston-Salem.

Plows and salt trucks were out looking for slick spots.

Police advise people to stay home if they don't need to be out.

Power outages are also a big problem in some areas too. The most outages were reported in Forsyth and Yadkin counties.
