REIDSVILLE, N.C. -- Christmas Eve will mark the first anniversary of the murder of a Rockingham County man.

No arrests have been made in the death of Calvin Simpson II and his family will be celebrating Christmas without him. They and the sheriff's office are hoping to jog people's memories by once again reaching out to the public for assistance.

Deputies have been in the area where Simpson was killed, passing out information about his death.

"We don't want C.J.'s name to be another Reidsville or Rockingham county's fatalities,” says Detective Jonathan Cheek. “You know he has a family and they're not going to forget. We feel, the sheriff's department feels, we owe it to them to get out there and remind people."

The Simpsons' family is offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction of a suspect in their son's death.

The sheriff’s office is still searching for information. If you know anything about this case you are asked to call Rockingham’s Crime Stoppers at 336 349-9683.
