RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. -- Randolph officials have unanimously approved adding 370 acres to the Greensboro-Randolph Megasite.

The rezoning request comes as officials are trying to make the site more attractive to companies.

The rezoning will now use the 370 acres for industrial use, but prevents it from being used for things like landfills, junkyards or stand-alone truck terminals.

Officials are already trying to lure Japanese car-maker, Toyota-Mazda, to the site to build a major auto manufacturing plant.

The proposed plant could bring up to 4,000 jobs to the Triad.

Officials will hold a public information session on Thursday at Providence Grove High School at 5 p.m.
