CHARLOTTE --The number of teen suicides in Mecklenburg County are climbing at an alarming rate. Last year, 11 teenagers in Mecklenburg County took their life, up from six in 2015 and four the year before.

Nathan Kocmond was found Friday after CMPD says he killed himself.

He's one of a growing number of teenagers taking their life in Mecklenburg County.

Here are some things to watch out for, according to Mental Health America of Central Carolinas:

·         Verbal suicide threats such as "You'd be better off without me." or "Maybe I won't be around."

·         Expressions of hopelessness and helplessness

·         Previous suicide attempts

·         Daring or risk-taking behavior

·         Personality changes

·         Depression

·         Giving away prized possessions

·         Lack of interest in future plans
