RALEIGH -- The 150th North Carolina State Fair kicks off on October 12th and that can only mean one thing, FOOD!

Every year, vendors come from all over the state to showcase their renditions of North Carolina cuisine.

This year's artisans brought their A-game with unique creations such as Thanksgiving Eggrolls, Deep Fried Key Lime Bites, Crab Cake Cheese Curds, and Flamin' Hot Cheetos Corn on the Cob.

But the ultimate food to try at the 2017 NC State Fair, according to judges at this year's media luncheon, is Columbian vendor, Arepa Loca

Arepa Loca combines North Carolina ingredients with Columbian recipes to create mouth-watering arepas and envueltos.

An arepa is a fresh corn pattie that can be stuffed with chicken, beef, pork, and vegetables and topped with a sauce selected to compliment the ingredients.

Envueltos are a sweet, corn bread-like dessert that comes in various flavors.

In addition to delicious food, for the first time at the NC State Fair, visitors will be able to sample North Carolina craft beers and wines at the Our State Public House located at the Pitzer Heritage Circle.
