RALEIGH, N.C. — When Adele Givens enters a room, there’s never a question, she’s bringing the energy. It doesn’t matter if she had a late show the night before, the legendary comedian comes ready to entertain the next morning. And she has a lot to smile about.
The longtime funny woman is coming off a recent and highly successful tour with other well known comedians like Martin Lawrence, and DeRay Davis just to name a few. But out of all those stars, Givens is the only woman, rightfully showing why she's named the "queen of comedy".
Givens sat down with Spectrum News anchor Caroline Blair for a look at her career, why she feels this recent run was so successful, and why she feels now is the time to be a female in comedy.
If you would like to see Adele Givens live on stage, she has a number of shows at Goodnight’s Comedy Club Aug. 24- 26. For time and ticket information, visit their website.
