RALEIGH, N.C. -- Thousands of kids are hitting the books again in the coming week making their way back to the classroom. But for some, it can be a stressful time if they don't have the funds to buy essential back to school items. That's why some folks in our area are donating their time, money and resources to ensure students have the important items they need.

Certified Life Coach Dionne Selby and Build a Lasting Legacy LLC CEO Pinique Singleton sat down and decided they needed to something to make a difference in their community. They decided to join forces with a number of local companies to hold a back to school bash called The Future Do'ers Back to School Extravaganza to offer free food, music, school supplies and even hair cuts.

The fun and games are taking place at the Tom Sawyer Life Barber and Beauty shop located at 16 Rock Quarry Road in Raleigh on Sunday, Aug. 26 from 3 to 6 p.m.  Tickets and reservations are not needed and donations are welcome.
