DURHAM, N.C. -- It can be tough for new, upcoming and indie artists to find the chance to take center stage in their field. However, a festival in Durham is now giving them the opportunity to do just that.

In its second year, the "Free Things in Life Festival" is working to share, discover and connect local artists, musicians and their fans.

Spectrum News anchor Caroline Blair and today sat down with the festival’s director, N'gamet Keita, for a look at why she started the venture in 2016 and what she hopes people get out of it.

If you'd like to enjoy the Free Things In Life Festival, the fun is taking place on Sunday, Aug. 26 from 12 to 8 p.m. at All Peoples Grill, which is located at 6122 Guess Road in Durham.
