RALEIGH-- There's no question North Carolina is quickly becoming a foodie haven.  And when something happens to one of their own, chefs in the Triangle  are known to band together.  That's exactly what's happening at a brand new event space in Raleigh.

Thorward Progress: A Fundraiser for Mike Thor is a special cocktail party benefiting the continued therapy efforts of Raleigh chef and restaurateur Michael Thor.  Thor suffered a devastating spinal cord injury two years ago when he was hit by a car.  The injury has left him and his family with the immense financial burden of long term out of pocket therapy and medical expenses.

The fundraiser will feature some amazing Triangle chefs and mixologist from places like Posh Nosh Caterin, Crawford & Son, Lucette Grace, Bittersweet, Bar Virgile, William & Co., Mateo, St. Roch, Hummingbird and Thor's own Whiskey Kitchen.

There will also be a special edition Thorward Progress beer created by Lonerider Brewing Co, and an auction curated with items and experiences that highlight some of the best North Carolina has to offer, including but not limited to:

The event is taking place at the brand new Whitaker & Atlantic event space.  Music will be provided by Nick Neptune and NBC The Voice finalist Nick Hagelin.  Organizers say a ticket purchase provides you with entry to the event, access to all food and two drink tickets.  Additional drink tickets can be bought at the cash bar and will still be donated to the cause.

We're told all proceeds for the event go to Help Hope Live in honor of Mike Thor.

Tickets can be purchased online or at the door.
