Jessica was born in Ohio, but moved to Cary when she was just barely 2 years old, so North Carolina has always been home to her.
Her family had a beach house on Topsail Island, which is how she figured out she was a beach girl!!
After graduating high school, Jessica knew UNCW was the school for her (who wouldn't want to go to college at the beach!). She graduated December 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Studies with a focus on broadcast journalism and on-camera performance.
She interned at the Wilmington Spectrum News office two times during college, accepting a full time position with the network in January 2016! She worked at the office in Wilmington until November 2016, when she transferred up the road to the Newport office.
Jessica’s husband is in the US Coast Guard, and the Crystal Coast is now their home!
In her free time, you can find Jessica adventuring in her own back yard. She loves exploring the small coastal communities that make up our beautiful state. Surfing, traveling, and playing with her pitbull are a few of the joys in her life.
Her favorite part about the job is waking up, exploring new places, meeting new people and telling their stories!
