RALEIGH, N.C. -- It was a busy weekend on the college gridiron with multiple scrimmages taking place while the Wolfpack held their annual Media Day at Carter-Finley Stadium.

North Carolina State also held their "Meet the Pack" event on Sunday and there was plenty of talk about this year's crop of stars who have helped keep their expectations up for the 2018 season.

Start Quarterback Ryan Finley and number one receiver Kelvin Harmon have been on plenty of preseason watch lists but Head Coach Dave Doeren says that hype needs to be contained and the focus should be on performing on the field when the season officially kicks off.

Doeren says, "You know I think just programmatically we talk about just blocking distractions and ignoring a hype. Anytime these guys get on a watch list, you know I congratulate them but I also remind them that they don't earn anything for being on a watch list. They have to earn it through their play throughout the year and those guys understand that. Obviously, they've had some good people to watch through this process as you mentioned and that's helpful for sure."
