GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Kevin Harvick drove to the checkered flag Sunday in Michigan, and on Monday, he traded in his fire suit for his golf clubs.

The Kevin Harvick Foundation Pro-am at Sedgefield Country Club kicks off the week at the Wyndham Championship, and Harvick was pleased with the opportunity to get on the course, and help raise money.

"For us, the exposure and things during the week, and allowing us to raise a little money and raise some awareness and be a part of the Wyndham Championship during the weekend is great for us," Harvick said Monday.

On the NASCAR Cup series, everyone is aware of Harvick, as he now has seven wins this season. What he doesn't have, now that the calendar has flipped into the latter stages of the regular season, is time to get his golf game in shape.

"This time of year, it definitely gets worse. Late spring, early summer is usually when I have the most time to play golf," Harvick said. "This time of year, it's usually too hot in the places that we're in, and you just wind up being busy getting right before the playoffs. There's a lot of things you have to manage, and golf is one of the first things, from a time standpoint, that gets cut out."
