A cold front pushing through North Carolina Tuesday will bring showers and storms back across the region. Though our severe threat has diminished within the past 24-hours, we still have the chance of seeing a few storms become strong to severe with a localized threat for damaging winds possible.

If you're heading out to the polls and are worried about driving in rain or a few storms, the better time frame to go vote would be before 5pm, as this front likely won't arrive along the coast until late this afternoon and into this evening.

A few lingering storms will be possible into Tuesday evening with scattered showers possible Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning.

Meanwhile, areas from the Crystal Coast northward should enjoy clearing conditions with sunshine returning Wednesday morning.

On the other hand, a frontal boundary stalling just to the south of the state will allow clouds to increase by the afternoon along our southern coast with a few pop-up showers possible for Wilmington and its surrounding areas by Wednesday afternoon and evening.

The weather will remain unsettled through Friday as another strong cold front is set to sweep through by late Friday into Saturday. Behind that, expect dry but chilly conditions from Saturday afternoon into Veteran's Day with highs only expected to top off in the upper 50s to low 60s.
