Galley Stores and Marina in New Bern suffered $100,000 in damage to its docks after Hurricane Florence.

When the water rose above 12 feet, the loops at the end of the docks securing them to their pylons floated over the poles, detaching them. Some docks floated hundreds of yards away across the street.

With the help of contractors, the marina was able to bring its docks back home. The rest of the repairs to the broken docks were handled by the marina's owner.

It took three weeks to get the marina back up and running for local boaters. For now, visitors can see new wood planks replacing older damaged ones, and renovations are still underway inside the shop.
