Parts of downtown are still cleaning and rebuilding in the wake of Florence.

Now with threats of rain from Michael, organizers are more determined than ever to give the town a pick-me-up.

“I think that this means a lot to the people of New Bern and just like New Bern has done in the rebuilding effort we’re gonna be resilient in getting things ready to go so that we are ready for people to come in this weekend," said Buddy Bengel, Swiss Bear Board Member.

Swiss Bear, Inc. is a private non-profit established to revitalize New Bern's downtown and redevelop the waterfront.

Mumfest is a city sponsored event featuring artisans, food, and music.

Country artist Dan and Shay are headlining the concert kicking-off Mumfest on Friday at Lawson Creek Park. I continues throughout the weekend in downtown New Bern.
