WILMINGTON, N.C. -- A flag that gained national attention during Hurricane Florence is up for auction.

The storm-tattered Frying Pan Tower flag withstood intense winds from the storm.

It was ripped to shreds on a live cam, but never fell off its post on a decommissioned lighthouse more than 30 miles off the North Carolina coast.

All of the proceeds will go to the American Red Cross.

The auction closes Sunday night.
