Any number of flood warnings remain active across most of southeastern North Carolina.

  • Overall forecast for the weekend is pretty dry until Sunday
  • Sunday could bring a few showers later in the day
  • Remnants of Florence are out near Bermuda

Continued caution needed in the region and river flooding is continuing. Road closures are ever changing. Continue to pay attention to NCDOT, the State Highway Patrol and local EMA folks. The process of flood waters cresting and dropping will continue into next week.

BE SAFE!

The overall forecast for the weekend looks pretty dry.  Saturday should be shower and storm free from the Outer Banks down to Wilmington. Sunday could bring a few showers later in the day. It doesn't appear our rain chances will rise until Monday.

An area of low pressure is near Bermuda. There had been earlier conversation that this was associated with the remnants of Florence. This is not the case. It's a brand new low and not associated with the former Florence in any way.

If something were to develop, the general thought from the NCH is a very weak tropical depression or storm.  As this is just Friday, I'll remain skeptical for now.
