BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C. -- Sheriff John W. Ingram is urging citizens of Brunswick County to evacuate due to dangerous flooding conditions.

In a video posted to Facebook, Ingram stated that the Sheriff's Office, along with the National Guard, will be going door- to- door encouraging residents in the Wacamaw River floodplain to evacuate.

The waters of the river have been steadily rising over the last few days, posing a growing threat to those who live near by.

In some areas, the water has already risen three feet above previous records.
