NORTH CAROLINA -- While the rain has mainly stopped across the Charlotte region and western North Carolina, drivers still need to be cautious.

In Stanly County, a massive sinkhole has opened up, shutting down Rock Hole Road in the town of Stanfield.

This is probably the most severe damage Florence has caused locally for a single road, with an entire section being washed away.

During our crews’ drive to Stanly County, there were still some stop lights without power and tree limbs blocking residential roads as well.

Also across the region, there is flooding around, including Dilworth’s Freedom Park.

In western North Carolina, the Boone Mall is flooded. Officials are asking people to stay away from that area until the creek recedes.
