CONCORD, N.C. -- Marine Week celebrations continued Saturday with the Air and Ground demonstration at the Charlotte Motor Speedway.

People got to see the Marines, their aircrafts and tankers in action. 

The Marines turned the Speedway into a battlefield, complete with explosions and plane landings. 

"It really gives us the opportunity for our Marines to really showcase what they can do," says Capt. Jeremy McLean. 

Quaticia Jerkins brought her family to see the show and says this was an eye-opening experience as they got to see a glimpse of what the men and women to every day to defend our freedom. 

"I'm proud of them all. I commend them all. God bless everybody, and this just was a good experience," Jerkins says. 

Marine Week wraps up Sunday with a parade and closing ceremony starting at 10:30 a.m. in uptown Charlotte.
