WILMINGTON, N.C. – A man is dead after a shooting near a school cook-out in Wilmington Thursday evening.  

• Quayshon McRae, 25, was shot and killed Thursday.
• It happened near a cook-out for Alderman Elementary School
• No children were harmed. 

Police have now identified the victim as Quayshon McRae, 25, of Wilmington.

Officers found McRae on Greenfield Street near Houston Moore Terrace with gunshot wounds.

No students were injured in this shooting.
