Typical summer weather is in the forecast for Tuesday. With plenty of sunshine through the first half of the day, afternoon temperatures will to near 90 in most inland areas of eastern North Carolina. The sea breeze will keep highs to the mid and upper 80s at our beaches.

There is a slight chance for a few isolated thunderstorms this afternoon. Any storms that develop should die down by sunset.

Very little chance for afternoon storms is expected Wednesday and Thursday.The late day storm chances will return by Friday and the weekend.

Inland high temperatures will warm to the low 90s for the rest of this week. Our beaches should continue to see highs in the mid to upper 80s.
