We have had a couple of hot afternoons so far this week. Wednesday should be just a little hotter. High temperatures will range from near 90 at our beaches to the mid 90s inland. The humidity will make it feel like its as hot as 105.

The heat and humidity of the day will likely be fuel for a few thunderstorms that may not form until the end of the day or the evening.  The storms could then continue well into the night. While not everyone will see rain, the storms could produce locally heavy downpours, frequent lightning, and damaging wind gusts.

Somewhat similar conditions are forecast for the rest of the week. Highs in the low to mid 90s are likely for Thursday and Friday with a heat index near or just over 100. There's a 30 percent chance for afternoon storms each day through the end of the week.

A somewhat higher chance for afternoon storms is expected this weekend.
